A Night At the Awards

10 September 2023 and we find ourselves at the regional finals of the England's Business Awards 2023. It was an honour to be nominated and we just felt happy to be recognised especially only being open for a year and a half!

We were nervous, not gonna lie, we may have had some “looseners” when we got there! We sat at our table (number 14, right at the back!) alongide two other businesses, A butchers and a bar/restaurant. We got chatting then all of a sudden someone said “Isn’t that you guys?”, There was our studio winner of Best New Business in Devon! We didn’t even realise we were in that category!

We go up to collect our award and a microphone is handed to us, cue awkward speech! Following what apprently wasn’t an awkward speech we are ushered off to the back to have our pictures taken and obvisouly do a celebration shot!

We go back to our table and resume the award ceremony, nervously awaiting the category that we actually knew we were entered into, Best Tattoo Studio.

Then the host says that it’s time he lists off the other studios entered in and we are both thinking, we don’t have a chance in hell!

Then again on the big screen…… Winner of Best Tattoo Studio in Devon…. CORBEAU NOIR TATTOOS.

The only thing going through my head was fffuuuuuuuuuccccccckkkkkkkkk!

When our name was called not once, but twice, we were swept off our feet. Corbeau Noir Tattoos was honoured with not just one, but two awards: "Best New Business in Devon" and "Best Tattoo Studio in Devon."

The journey to this point had been nothing short of a rollercoaster. Starting my first business, the sleepless nights whilst decorating the studio then the nervous excitement before launching the studio. The awards were not just accolades; they were validation for the blood, sweat and tears that we have making Corbeau Noir Tattoos what it is.

I remember the day we first opened the doors, unsure of what the future held. Receiving these awards was a testament to the courage it took to chase those dreams and to try and do something different.

Being awarded "Best Tattoo Studio in Devon" is all down to my staff, not only does it validate the countless hours spent honing their skills, the meticulous attention to detail they put into every tattoo, the relationships they build with our clients, Its a nod to their artistic vision coming to life on the canvas of skin.

These awards have served as a reminder of our responsibility to continue doing what we do best and to continue to support our local community.

England's Business Awards 2023 wasn't just an event; it was a night etched in our memories, a night where Corbeau Noir Tattoos was recognised and celebrated. It was a night that reinforced our belief that with passion, perseverance, and an unwavering commitment to our craft and business, good things do happen! We're eager to embrace the future and continue weaving stories, one tattoo at a time.
